General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a comprehensive diploma program designed to
prepare students for a rewarding career in nursing and healthcare. The course equips aspiring
nurses with essential knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies required to
provide quality patient care in hospitals, clinics, and community health settings.
GNM focuses on a balanced combination of theoretical education and practical training,
covering subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing,
midwifery, and community health nursing. Students gain hands-on experience through clinical
postings in various healthcare settings, ensuring they are well-prepared for real-world
challenges.
The program also emphasizes ethics, compassion, and effective communication, shaping nurses who are capable of delivering holistic care to patients of all ages. Candidate must have passed 10+2 (Class XII) or equivalent examination. Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Candidates with Science (PCB) or equivalent are preferred with 40% marks in English.
Minimum age: 17 years as of 31st December of the admission year.
Maximum age: 35 years (may vary as per regulatory norms).
